Over the summer as I was watching more and more Korean shows, I realized that I truly was obsessed. I went on vacation to Galveston with Erica and her sister and we both bought little travel Korean books to read on the beach. It was fun to learn a few words here and there and get some information about the culture and people.
I was finishing up my last semester of college and one day I was talking to a few friends about how I am obsessed with Korean shows and a few laughed, but a few of them also loved them so we talked about our favorite shows and favorite actors. My one friend Jenny told me about several shows to watch and I was excited to have a kindred.
A few days later, my other friends Laura and Dustin stopped by where I was at work and we started talking about how they were leaving soon and I asked where, and they said...wait for it....wait for it...South Korea. WHAT???? I wanted to know everything right then and there. Laura said they were leaving in a few weeks to go there to teach English. My brain immediately went into overdrive and I started wishing I was going to Korea. I asked her lots of questions and she didn't have time right then, but she told me she would give me the information so I could look it all up and that she would help me if I wanted to do it and that it would be awesome if I was there too.
Ok, I know what you're thinking as I have also thought it myself: Jen can't go to Korea, that's crazy! It's true. I felt that way for a few months actually. I didn't really get started with wanting to seriously go to Korea until a few other things happened. But I'll share those in the next few posts....haha.
